"My work is about being present in the moment. It is an expression of my constant state of meditative mindfulness. It means a lot to me that I can step away from the screen, from the pressure of becoming a "digital somebody" so that I can create with my hands.
How would we have known that we existed thousands of years ago if nobody left traces of drawings on rocks, discovered today in caves deep down below?"
Under the surface is a drawing by Ofo. It appears only where your hand passes: each scratch takes away one layer and shows another, a little at a time. Ofo's work begins with the hand, away from the screen, and this piece asks for the same gesture, made on a screen.
